What is International Development?

‘Development’ is a broad and highly contested concept, which over time has been defined from a wide variety of perspectives. International development studies treat issues such as poverty, inequality, environmental sustainability, international humanitarian aid, colonial legacies or imposed Westernization.
In KCLID, we aim to achieve a more profound and open-minded understanding of ‘international development’ and what it implies for our world nowadays.
